Volleyball Recap: Jada Ruiz and Emory Speece Secure Win for Osage City

Chase County typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Osage City proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The Indians were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Bulldogs, so the Indians were just returning the favor.

Osage City easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-9.

Osage City was led to victory by Emory Speece and Jada Ruiz. Speece had 12 digs, while Ruiz had four digs and three aces. Speece is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played. Madalyn Mullinix also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Osage City has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Chase County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Osage City beat the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 later that day.
