Softball Recap: Bluffton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Emmanuel Christian on Wednesday, Bluffton came back down to earth. The Pirates took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Wildcats on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bluffton now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluffton will venture away from home to take on Crestview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jefferson, they will head out to square off against Allen East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.2 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
