Volleyball Recap: Damien Pulido and Isaac Avila Elizalde Secure Win for Atwater

Atwater had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Delhi Hawks.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 25-6.

Atwater was led to victory by Isaac Avila Elizalde and Damien Pulido. Avila Elizalde had seven aces, five digs, and one block, while Pulido had 14 digs and six assists. Those seven aces gave Avila Elizalde a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Atwater was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive games.

Atwater's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Delhi, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atwater will venture away from home to face off against Merced at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delhi, they will head out on the road to challenge Ceres at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
