Morton won the last time they faced Richwoods and things went their way on Thursday too. Morton skirted past Richwoods 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Potters.

Collin Burns made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burns was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other pitching news, Morton got a great performance from Matt Sander as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched.

Burns wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jude Parnham, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Bek Powers also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Morton's record is now 3-5. As for Richwoods, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Morton will square off against Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Streator has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something Morton will no doubt try to take advantage of. Richwoods has already played their next match (against Tri-Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
