Football Recap: Tupelo Golden Wave vs. Lewisburg Patriots

Tupelo waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Lewisburg Patriots 49-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Golden Wave's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked second, while the Patriots are ranked 132nd).

Tupelo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaeden Hill led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Hill really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Braylen Williams was another key player, rushing for 11 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tupelo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
