Softball Recap: Menchville Takes a Loss

Gloucester hit Menchville with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Monarchs came up short against the Dukes, falling 12-1. The Monarchs haven't had much luck with the Dukes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Menchville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Suki Gibbons (2027), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was Gibbons (2027)'s first of the season.

Menchville now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Gloucester, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Looking ahead, Menchville will square off against Woodside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gloucester, they will challenge York at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
