Basketball Recap: Tyrell Cash Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Evergreen

Heritage hadn't done well against Evergreen recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Heritage Timberwolves enjoyed a cozy 76-60 win over the Evergreen Plainsmen. For the Timberwolves, this counts as revenge for the 68-58 victory the Plainsmen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Heritage got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrell Cash out in front who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooks Greenawald, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Cash wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Heritage was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Evergreen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Heritage will head out to face off against Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge. As for Evergreen, they will venture away from home to challenge Mountain View at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
