Baseball Recap: Perry County Vikings vs. Hughes Lions
Perry County won the last time they faced Hughes and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Lions. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-run performance the game before.
Jake Mercer was excellent, going 4-for-5 with four runs and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Perry County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Sellers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
