Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Foothill's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Foothill never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Del Oro Suns with a sharp 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Joaquin Carrillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Foothill got a massive performance out of Marcos Carbajal, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Carlos Ruano was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Foothill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Del Oro, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Foothill will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Suns: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
