Softball Recap: Memorial Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Memorial can now relate to. They came up short against the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates on Thursday, falling 11-1. That's two games in a row now that the Mavericks have lost by exactly ten runs.

Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-20 record this season. As for Lubbock-Cooper, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-5.

While Memorial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
