Softball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 23-1 to the Henrico Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-14 back in April.

Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Henrico, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Petersburg will venture away from home to square off against Colonial Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colonials have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.06 runs per game on average), something the Crimson Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Henrico, they will head out to challenge Hermitage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
