Baseball Recap: Grandfield's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Grandfield came into Friday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Waurika Eagles on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bearcats: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 11-5 defeat.

Conner Souther and Braden Garlington did most of the damage at the plate: Souther got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI, while Garlington went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Garlington has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cooper Henson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Grandfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Waurika, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Grandfield will square off against Geronimo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Waurika does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
