Baseball Recap: Cherokee County Finds Home Field Redemption Against Alexandria

Cherokee County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Alexandria on Thursday. The Warriors came out on top against the Valley Cubs by a score of 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Valley Cubs last Tuesday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Carson Tittle made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Tittle was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

Tittle wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Hunter, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Hunter has posted since back in March.

Cherokee County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-13-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Alexandria, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Cherokee County is taking a road trip to challenge Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alexandria, they will face off against Donoho at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
