Softball Recap: Waverly Central Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Waverly Central fell 7-2 to Lexington. The defeat continues a trend for Waverly Central in their meetings with Lexington: they've now lost three in a row.

Waverly Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lexington, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-2 record this season.

Waverly Central will host McEwen at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lexington, they have already played their next matchup, an 11-3 defeat against Henry County on the 12th.
