Baseball Recap: Argonaut's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Argonaut had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 6-8 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against Venture Academy by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-2 back in February.

The team relied heavily on Julian Constance, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Argonaut: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Dylan Avila was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Argonaut hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in six consecutive games.

As for Venture Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.

On Venture Academy's side, Tanner Gantt made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Piper, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Argonaut will host Bradshaw Christian at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Venture Academy, they will face off against Ben Holt College Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 8.
