The Philip Simmons Iron Horses entered their tilt with the Georgetown Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Philip Simmons came out on top against Georgetown by a score of 57-49 on Monday. Given Philip Simmons' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Georgetown is ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Philip Simmons to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Mack, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds. Weston Coggeshall was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Georgetown's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ean Mitchell , who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Stanley , who scored 11 points.
Philip Simmons' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Georgetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Philip Simmons will head out on the road to face off against James Island at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Georgetown won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. James at 7:30 p.m. on November 28th.
