Preview: Vacaville Bulldogs vs. Wood Wildcats

Vacaville is 8-1 against Wood since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Vacaville Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Wood Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Vacaville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wood in California (Vacaville is ranked 169th, while Wood is ranked 424th).

Last Friday, Vacaville never let their opponents score. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 44-0 victory over Armijo. The result was nothing new for Vacaville, who have now won three matches by 35 points or more so far this season.

Vacaville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan De lago out in front who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Cristian Diosdado was in the mix as well, providing Vacaville with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Wood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 36-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rodriguez.

The losing side was boosted by Kimani Dokes, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 70 yards and a touchdown. Colby Ford was another key contributor, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Vacaville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Wood, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Vacaville against Wood when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 28-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vacaville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
