Basketball Recap: Nevada Union Miners vs. Roseville Tigers
Nevada Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roseville Tigers. The Miners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
It was another big night for Oreste Yong, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for Roseville. Yong's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ren Marsh, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 19 points.
Nevada Union's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Roseville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Nevada Union is taking a road trip to challenge Yuba City at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Roseville, they will welcome Twelve Bridges at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Twelve Bridges knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Roseville likes a good challenge.
