Shelton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 41-15 to the Fairfield Prep Jesuits. While losing is never fun, the Gaels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Jesuits are ranked 19th).

Shelton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Sepkaski, who threw for 215 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 38 yards. Those 38 rushing yards gave Sepkaski a new career-high. Shelton is taking a road trip to face off against Newtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newtown will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Shelton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fairfield Prep, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Hendricken at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.
