Meanwhile, Kenwood faced Whitney Young in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Kenwood strolled past Whitney Young with points to spare, taking the game 71-55.

Kenwood's win came from a few key players Marist will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was London Walker George, who went 6-for-10 en route to 19 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Danielle Brooks, who went 8-for-20 on her way to 22 points.

Kenwood's win bumped their record up to 32-3. As for Marist, their victory bumped their record up to 26-8.

Marist beat Kenwood 54-45 in their previous meeting back in January of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marist since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
