Basketball Recap: Leggett Piles Up the Points Against Burkeville

There's no place like home for Leggett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 54-23 victory over the Burkeville Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-21 back in December of 2024.

Leggett's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Na'Ilah Jordan, who posted 21 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Jordan a new career-high in points. Bianca Perkins was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six assists and six boards.

Leggett is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Burkeville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coincidentally, Leggett and Burkeville will both be playing Brookeland the next time they take the court. Leggett will head out to face Brookeland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Burkeville will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
