Baseball Recap: Seton Lasalle Starts off Right with Win over Bishop Canevin

Seton LaSalle had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Bishop Canevin Crusaders 9-0. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Anthony LoCastro and Josh Burkholder were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, LoCastro tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Burkholder pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, LoCastro scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Burkholder scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nate Baxendell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seton LaSalle will square off against Taylor Allderdice at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Canevin, they will challenge Ambridge at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th.
