Basketball Game Preview: Charter Oak Chargers vs. Santa Fe Chiefs

The Charter Oak Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the Santa Fe Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Charter Oak is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Charter Oak took a blow against Workman, falling 94-36. The game marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe was beaten by South 75-19 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 932nd, while the Spartans are ranked 208th).

This is the second loss in a row for Santa Fe and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Charter Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Charter Oak came out on top in a nail-biter against Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 59-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charter Oak since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
