After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mira Costa, San Clemente was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mater Dei Monarchs. That's more bragging rights for the Tritons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The win didn't come easy: Mater Dei scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18.

San Clemente's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Mater Dei, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coming up, San Clemente will face off against Capistrano Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mater Dei, they will challenge Pacifica Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Dei is facing Pacifica Christian at the right time seeing as Pacifica Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
