Basketball Preview: Wahoo Warriors vs. Beatrice Orangemen
The Wahoo Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Beatrice Orangemen at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Wahoo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
On Thursday, Wahoo came up short against the Cardinals and fell 49-42.
Gretchen Seagren put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 15 points along with four blocks and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Sidney Smart was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Beatrice faced the Titans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Beatrice took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. Beatrice's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Wahoo has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Beatrice, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2.
Wahoo came up short against the Orangemen in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 40-35. Can Wahoo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
