Softball Recap: Salem Hills Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Salem Hills and West Jordan squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Salem Hills had to settle for second. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 13-7. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Skyhawks, who until this matchup were averaging 4.09 runs allowed.

Camryn Guest was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audree Stokes, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

With the defeat, Salem Hills broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 27-5. As for West Jordan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

While Salem Hills had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
