Softball Recap: Herron Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tindley on Thursday, Herron came back down to earth. The Achaeans took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Covenant Christian Warriors on Saturday. The Achaeans have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Herron saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Page, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Page has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Kali Mwaafrika also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Herron's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Covenant Christian, their record now sits at 10-8.

Coming up, Herron will welcome Bethesda Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Achaeans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Covenant Christian, they will venture away from home to take on North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
