Baseball Recap: Denver North Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Denver North proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Vista PEAK Prep Bison. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Ruben Avalos, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Denver North's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denver North will venture away from home to face off against Pueblo East at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Northfield at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
