Basketball Recap: Wallace Skates Past Genesee with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Wallace on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Genesee Bulldogs out of the water with a 73-33 final score. The Miners pushed the score to 59-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had no chance of recovering from.

Leading Wallace to victory were Julian Davis and Cooper Miller. Davis shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds, while Miller went 9 of 20 on his way to 22 points and eight assists. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 18.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Williams, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Wallace was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Genesee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Bollman went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five assists. Those 15 points gave Bollman a new career-high.

The victory got Wallace back to even at 2-2. As for Genesee, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Wallace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-58 defeat against Timberlake on the 10th. As for Genesee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-39 win against Timberline on the 13th.
