Basketball Game Preview: Pendleton Bulldogs vs. Madison County Red Raiders

Pendleton is 0-3 against Madison County since December of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Pendleton came up short against Stephens County and fell 39-27.

Despite their loss, Pendleton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alexis Mattress, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 18 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Blakely Branyon was another key player, putting up three points and 12 boards.

Madison County hadn't beaten Walnut Grove on the road since December 21, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Red Raiders strolled past the Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 51-35.

Madison County's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Pendleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Pendleton took a serious blow against Madison County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 67-37. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
