Basketball Recap: Red Mesa Sets Scoring Season-High Against El Capitan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Red Mesa). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the El Capitan Eagles 67-32. Winning may never get old, but the Redskins sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Red Mesa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tianna Bradley out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. Those nine assists gave Bradley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Jones, who went 7 of 16 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, El Capitan still got an impressive performance from Ruth Timpson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Timpson's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Red Mesa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for El Capitan, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Red Mesa has already played their next contest, a 56-52 loss against Whitehorse on the 27th. As for El Capitan, they will face off against Escalante at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
