Basketball Recap: Regents Knights vs. Holy Cross Knights
Regents was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-47 to the Holy Cross Knights. Regents was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Holy Cross apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Aaron Garcia was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 13 en route to 24 points plus six assists and five rebounds for Holy Cross. That makes it four consecutive games in which Garcia has scored at least a third of Holy Cross' points. Another player making a difference was Steve Hernandez, who earned eight points along with two steals.
Regents' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Regents will face off against Faith Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Cross, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Incarnate Word Academy at 7:30 p.m.
