Basketball Game Preview: Chilhowie Warriors vs. Northwood Panthers

The Chilhowie Warriors will square off against the Northwood Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Chilhowie is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Virginia High just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 79-52 loss at the hands of the Bearcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since December 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, Northwood took a blow against Patrick Henry on Friday, falling 88-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Rebels are ranked 121st).

Chilhowie's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Northwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Chilhowie strolled past Northwood in their previous meeting on January 9th by a score of 49-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chilhowie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
