Basketball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

Petersburg lost against Metlakatla back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Petersburg Vikings lost 53-30 to the Metlakatla Chiefs. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Chiefs are ranked 12th).

Petersburg has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. Metlakatla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Petersburg nor Metlakatla have any future games scheduled.
