While Central Mountain's win against DuBois wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Beavers 3-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Blake Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Central Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for DuBois, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2.

Central Mountain and DuBois should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 16th) will meet Shikellamy (ranked 208th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, DuBois will take on Clarion Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (35 vs. 167). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Beavers 1.9, the Bobcats 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
