Arroyo is 0-5 against Encinal since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Dons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jets at 4:00 p.m. Arroyo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Arroyo came up short against Bishop O'Dowd and fell 10-5.

Aneesa Aguon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Howard, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Encinal also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Alameda by a score of 8-4. The Jets have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Encinal saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emiko Takemoto, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Jazzy Alcantar also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Encinal's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Arroyo, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Encinal's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Arroyo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Encinal, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Arroyo keep running through batters, or will the Jets buck the trend?

Arroyo came up short against Encinal in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 9-4. Can the Dons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
