Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Millington

Millington entered their tilt with Frankenmuth on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-2. Considering the Cardinals have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Matusik was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kamyrn Blackmer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Millington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Millington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Frankenmuth, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Millington will host Garber at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Frankenmuth, they will head out on the road to challenge Shepherd on Saturday.
