Basketball Recap: Cuba-Rushford Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cuba-Rushford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They strolled past the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 52-35. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Wolverines are ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cuba-Rushford pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Bolivar-Richburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cuba-Rushford will challenge Fillmore at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bolivar-Richburg, they will take on Hinsdale Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bolivar-Richburg is facing Hinsdale Central at the right time seeing as Hinsdale Central is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
