Basketball Game Preview: Cimarron Trailblazers vs. Covington-Douglas Wildcats

Cimarron is 2-8 against Covington-Douglas since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cimarron Trailblazers will head out on the road to take on the Covington-Douglas Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.

Cimarron is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 60-8 defeat at the hands of Garber. The contest marked the Trailblazers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Covington-Douglas posted their biggest win since January 12, 2024 on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 41-15 margin over Deer Creek-Lamont.

The victory got Covington-Douglas back to even at 6-6. As for Cimarron, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Cimarron might still be hurting after the 51-25 defeat they got from Covington-Douglas in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cimarron was down 27-6.
