Basketball Game Preview: Livingston Lions vs. Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns

Livingston hasn't had much luck against Hamshire-Fannett recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Livingston Lions will head out to take on the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Livingston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Livingston will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 22) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 win over Tarkington.

Meanwhile, Hamshire-Fannett was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 60-56 to Hargrave. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Falcons are ranked 113th).

Hamshire-Fannett's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-13. As for Livingston, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Livingston took a serious blow against Hamshire-Fannett in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 86-54. Can Livingston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
