Baseball Recap: Kapa'a Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waimea, Kapa'a was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kauai Red Raiders a 5-0 shutout. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 9-2 win the Red Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Kauai's batters probably weren't too happy with Kimo Kupihea, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up a single walk).

On the hitting side, Kapa'a's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Micah Hussey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win got Kapa'a back to even at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kapa'a will host Island at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kauai, they will take on Waimea at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
