The third road matchup was the charm for Northern Cambria, as they earned their first away win of the season. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Portage Mustangs on Thursday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Julia Mitory spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Messina, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Megan Lubert also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Northern Cambria picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Portage, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Northern Cambria will head out to square off against Cambria Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Portage, they will take on Conemaugh Township at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
