Basketball Recap: Hampton Bays Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampton Bays). They walked away with a 53-40 win over the Miller Place Panthers on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Miller Place's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brooke Callaghan, who posted ten points and seven boards, and Ava Zicchinelli, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points. That's the most points Callaghan has posted since back in February of 2024.

Hampton Bays' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Miller Place, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Hampton Bays will face off against Kings Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Miller Place has already played their next contest (against Sayville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
