Basketball Recap: Franklin Road Academy Takes a Loss

Franklin Road Academy and Goodpasture Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Franklin Road Academy had to settle for second. They fell 65-58 to the Goodpasture Christian Cougars. The Panthers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Goodpasture Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addi Ruffin, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Ruffin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Harper Kate Miles, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 21 points and five rebounds.

Franklin Road Academy's loss dropped their record down to 22-12. As for Goodpasture Christian, their record is now 21-8.

Franklin Road Academy has already played their next contest, a 62-45 victory against Jackson Christian on the 25th. As for Goodpasture Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-53 win against Grace Christian Academy on the 25th.
