Baseball Recap: Randolph County Takes a Loss

Randolph County blew Wellborn out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Wellborn got their revenge. The Randolph County Tigers fell just short of the Wellborn Panthers by a score of 10-8. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 21-4.

Ethan Watts was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Robinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Randolph County dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wellborn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wellborn beat Randolph County by a score of 14-6 later that day.
