Softball Recap: Eleva-Strum Gets the Win

Eleva-Strum gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past the Auburndale Eagles 3-2. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ruby Bartholomew made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Bartholomew wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddea Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Eleva-Strum hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburndale struck out ten times.

Eleva-Strum's record is now 11-7. As for Auburndale, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5.

Eleva-Strum has already played their next matchup (against Spring Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Auburndale also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Coleman.
