Softball Game Preview: Hermon Hawks vs. Cony Rams

The Hermon Hawks will face off against the Cony Rams on Thursday. Hermon's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Cony's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Hermon is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hampden just ended the team's nine-game winning streak last Tuesday. They fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Cony had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out Nokomis 7-6 on Tuesday.

Hermon's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Cony, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.

Everything went Hermon's way against Cony in their previous matchup back in June of 2025, as Hermon made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
