Basketball Recap: Cedar Hill Comes Up Short

Cedar Hill's tournament run continued when they took on Reagan on Saturday. The Longhorns took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rattlers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Longhorns still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Christian Kelley, who shot 44% from the field en route to 28 points and five boards for Reagan. Those 28 points gave Kelley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Federspiel, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 17 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Cedar Hill and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Reagan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Hill will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mesquite at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. The matchup will give the Longhorns their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Reagan, they will face off against Los Fresnos at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
