Soccer Game Preview: McCollum vs. South San Antonio

The McCollum Cowboys will take on the South San Antonio Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. South San Antonio took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on McCollum, who comes in off a win.

McCollum's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Southside. Considering the Cowboys have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Southside with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alex Tey, Yvette Hernandez, and Ashbel Isidro.

Meanwhile, South San Antonio came up short against Southwest Legacy on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Titans are ranked 149th).

The victory made it two in a row for McCollum and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for South San Antonio, they now have a losing record at 5-6-1.

McCollum took their win against South San Antonio when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. Does McCollum have another victory up their sleeve, or will South San Antonio turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
