            Softball Recap: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Apache Junction Prospectors        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Valley Christian). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Apache Junction Prospectors  a   28-0 shutout  on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Leigha Kremlacek and  Taya Clausen made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Kremlacek   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Clausen   pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. That's the fewest  hits  she has allowed since back in February. At the plate,  Kremlacek  scored a  run while going 2-for-3, while  Clausen  scored a  run while going 1-for-1. That's the most  hits  Kremlacek has posted since March 1st.
 In other batting news,  Sophie Kercsmar was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, eight  RBI,  and three  runs. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Makay Fraley, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 Valley Christian  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .857. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.

Valley Christian's victory was  their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 13-2-1. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Apache Junction,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Christian will host Gilbert Christian  at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Apache Junction, they will square off against Benson at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Apache Junction's pitchers better be ready for this one: Benson has averaged an impressive 8.4  runs per game this season.
